Boot Camp: Facilitated by Charity Burnett

Charity Burnett curates micro-exhibitions at a private space called Sangria Fine Arts. Bringing together entertainers and artists from all over Los Angeles. Selected press for Sangria has been in Artillery, Artweek.LA, Society 805, CoaguLA Art Journal, and art historian Kate Munson’s blog.

Burnett was co-curator of the critically acclaimed, Tel-Art-Phone with art writer/critic Mat Gleason, along with 8 co-curators. The curator appears in Tel-Art-Phone featurette directed by Eric Minh Swenson. Burnett leads art tours around the LA art scene, exploring museums, galleries, and alternative underground exhibition spaces. In addition she organizes Sangria Studio Tours and Lunches once a month for artists who show at Sangria and art collectors at the studio of well known artists actively showing in LA.

Delights & Extras, Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California (Curatorial Project). Purple Gallery, Venice, California. Roark, Los Angeles, California. Brewery Artwalk (Raid Projects Studios), Los Angeles, California. Time & Place, Lebec, California. Twin Pines Gallery, Belmont, California. Capitol Hill Rotunda, Washington D.C. chose Charity’s work on Zone 9: (W)52 POP-UP Gallery (web) as a top recommended website. Recently she was guest on the Alex Schaefer Hour at Coagula Internet Radio.

Burnett was offered large scholarship awards by Parsons, Otis, CCAC, and SCIA. She earned a BFA in Fine Arts and Illustration, from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California in a record 2.5 years. She also studied at the College of San Mateo, San Mateo, California (Fine Art and Design).
